Why Your Computer Loses Power When Gaming
You’ve probably noticed that your computer is consuming a lot of power while playing your favourite games. This is especially true when you’re using the graphics card in your game. It is vital that you check the power supply unit to make sure it’s functioning properly. Most of the time, a faulty power supply can cause your system to shut down and reboot. If you’re unsure whether it’s the power supply, you can use a power supply tester to find out whether it’s the problem.
Another common cause for computer shut-downs while gaming is a sudden cut in electricity. This can cause your system to run slower or stop completely. The sudden cut in electricity can also corrupt important files, such as system files. If this occurs during a system update, for example, your computer could crash when it attempts to reboot, because of the corrupted file. If this happens, you’ll have to reboot your machine to repair the damage.
If the problem is the graphics card, the power supply may be the culprit. A faulty PSU may be trying to supply too much power to your gaming peripherals. Try unplugging your SATA cables from your computer and see if this fixes the problem. If not, try replacing the PSU. If this doesn’t solve the problem, you’ll need to replace the graphics card. If the problem persists, you can even upgrade your RAM, which can solve the problem.
