How to Remove Gas Lift From Gaming Chair

To remove the gas lift from your gaming chair, you must first disassemble the tilt mechanism. This is easy to do. First, you must unscrew the main bolts at the bottom of the seat and then unscrew the gas cylinder. Then, you must carefully twist the cylinder out of the base. If you are not experienced with these tools, you can use a rubber mallet to tap the mechanism away from the seat. If you are unsure of how to do it, you can apply WD-40 to the joints.

Afterward, remove the old gas lift from the base of the chair. The mechanism on the underside of the seat should be easy to lift off. Then, use WD-40 or washing up liquid to clean the gas lift mechanism. If this solution doesn’t work, try using a soft mallet and WD40. Using a rubber mallet, you can gently press the cylinder out of the seat, which will wedge the old one into its socket.

Once the gas lift has been completely removed, you must clean the mechanism so dirt does not get into it. Then, use a hammer to pry the cylinder loose. If the mechanism remains stuck, you can try applying WD40 or washing up liquid to it. You should then be able to pull the old gas lift out. Afterwards, you can apply a penetration agent to the newly-loosened gas lift.
