A slipcover is designed for a specific model of a recliner. There is no universal sizing for recliners. Each recliner model is slightly different. The first step to measuring for a slipcover is to measure the dimensions of your furniture piece. This includes the length, width, and depth. Once you have the dimensions, measure the dimensions of the slipcover that you’re going to order.
Measure the outside of the back and the top of the chair back and then add 2 inches to each measurement. That will give you the circumference of the chair, and you can add half an inch to that measurement to account for the fabric bunched up at the seams.
